NU-VENTURE BUSES ON
RAIL REPLACEMENT SERVICES

Over recent years Nu-Venture have provided vehicles on some weekends for rail replacement services throughout London and also in Kent and East Sussex. Below are a selection of photos of Nu-Venture buses operating on such work at various locations. Over the years a variety of different vehicles appeared on such work from minibuses to double decks, from Leyland Nationals to Coaches. Some routes operated were 'one-offs' but a regular route operated during the Summer of 2000 was the Bromley South to Denmark Hill route which operated on a number of weekends and saw a wide variety of vehicles in use.

Pictured here waiting its time in Streatham High Road by Streatham Hill Station on 20/02/00. It was operating a rail replacement service from London Bridge Station via Peckham and Dulwich. It was joined that day by sister vehicle IUI 2143 ex T459.

Pictured here at Crowborough Station on Saturday 06/05/00 where it had just arrived from East Grinstead Station via Uckfield and Buxted Stations. All three Mk2 Nationals plus a Scania coach were operated by Nu-Venture on this route.

ex London Central T975 returned back to its old territory during the Summer of 2000. It is pictured here outside Denmark Hill railway station on 09/07/00 at the end of its journey from Bromley South. It was to be the first of several Sundays that this vehicle operated over this route throughout the summer of 2000.

Seen here in Grove Lane up the road from Denmark Hill railway station on 06/08/00 on the third Sunday of such work having just completed its journey from Bromley South railway station

N2 FPK

Dennis Dart/UVG (N2 FPK)

is seen in Grove Road near Denmark Hill railway station on 10/09/00 having just arrived from Bromley South Station. The first day that Darts had been allocated to this route by Nu-Venture.

Pictured here taking a break at the Bromley end of the route on 19/11/00. It had just completed a journey from Denmark Hill railway station. It was joined that day by stablemate A975 SYE from Hoo, Plus Darts N2/3 FPK from Aylesford.

Just over four years later on 31 January 2005 Leyland Titan T857 is seen at Bromley South Station on the same route.

Pictured here on a more local replacement service at Maidstone West railway station on 03/09/00 having just terminated its journey from Strood station. This was the first time that Nu-Venture put minibuses on such work. This vehicle normally spends its working week on routes 113 and 114 in Medway. It was one of 3 Varios on the route on this day.
