Loan fleet Olympian has made several appearances on Medway Towns routes recently.

OCTOBER 2007

723 (SN53 LWP) leads the queue of buses at Nu-Venture's Deacon depot awaiting a day in service on Sunday 21 October 2007, it is closely followed by 719 and 720.

General:
New routes 282/283/285 commenced from 1/10/07 between Speldhurst, Tunbridge Wells and Hawkenbury usual buses are 901, with 166 joining it in the peaks. October unusual workings, included 702 on 282/285 on 5/10, 721 on 285 on 6/10 both usually MRL, 901 on 13/89B on 5/10 this bus normally used in Tunbridge Wells, T552/867/905 all saw use on Medway routes on Saturday 6/10 including 113/179 and P&R. Loan fleet Olympian 2040 has seen some use here w/e 19/10 on various routes in Medway and Maidstone. 702 on 285 Saturday 20/10.

MRL 905 returned to service to operate a shuttle bus on route 58 due to various road closures along that route w/c 20/8/07. On 18/8/07 an unusual Saturday working on route 179 was that of T905 [A905 SYE] usually a Dart, and of an MRL 903 on the Park & Ride Service normally Darts.

An unusal working saw 746 [T446 HRV] on 298 on the morning of 1/7/07, 298 did not operate on 8/7/07 with many roads closed due to the Tour De France. Chatham Traction liviered T1097 has now been withdrawn from service and is being broken up for spares. The panels bearing the "Chatham Traction" vinyls have been retained! T455 has returned to service after a short time out of use.

The Dickens Festival Park & Ride service was operated again between Horsted and Chapter School on Saturday 2 June and Sunday 3 June. On Saturday T415, T592, T867, T873, T984, 720 and 746 operated the service. On Sunday the same vehicles operated the service except that T1097 was used instead of T984. The normal shoppers Park & Ride on the Saturday 2 June used T455 and T1097 alongside the more usual Dart 702 to increase capacity and T347 operated 179. 723 was an unusual visitor on the 2 on the afternoon of 29/6/07, it then went on to operate the 1625 (58) both usually operated by a Lynx.

The Rochester Sweeps festival took place over the 5-7 May Bank holiday weekend, and to cope with extra demand Leyland Titans T592/T873 and T984 operated the Chatham/Rochester shoppers Park & Ride on Saturday 5/5. An unusual working on Bank Holiday Monday 7/5 saw SLF 746 operate route 298, normally worked by MPD's, on 24/5 SLF 718 worked route 20 and Tesco's normally a Lynx


MPD 719 [GN53 YUF] is seen in Impton Lane on the first Saturday of Nu-Venture operation of route 179 on 19th May 2007 awaiting its 1240 departure back to Chatham. This route is worked in the week by Titans T347 and T867.
